Hello! I’m Jiaan Wang (王佳安), a Research Scientist at Weixin AI, Tencent, based in Beijing. I received my B.Eng. and M.S. degrees from Soochow University (2016–2023), where I was advised by Prof. Zhixu Li (now at Renmin University of China) and Dr. Fandong Meng (Weixin AI). I have also worked closely with Dr. Jiarong Xu (Fudan University) and Dr. Jianfeng Qu (now at Renmin University of China).
My current research centers on the post-training of large foundation models, with a particular focus on LLM agents and LLM evaluation.
Previously, I worked on a broad range of NLP topics, including:
- Machine Translation: DeepTrans (TACL 2026), DRT (ACL 2025 Findings), RAGtrans (EMNLP 2025 Findings) and ExTrans (arXiv preprint 2025).
- Multi-lingual Summarization: M2MS empirical study (ACL 2025), PISCES (ACL 2023), Translationese in CLS (EMNLP 2023 Findings), CLS Survey (TACL 2022), ClidSum (EMNLP 2022).
- Dialogue Generation: Role-Play Tutorial (IJCAI 2025), EnCo (AAAI 2024).
- NLG Evaluation: Is ChatGPT a Good NLG Evaluator? (NewSumm@EMNLP 2023).
Beyond computer science, I also used to have a research interest in management science, where I explored how AI techniques can be applied to business and societal problems. This line of work resulted in two papers in UTD-24 journals: UPSTAR (ISR) on recommender systems and PPGP (JOC) on privacy-preserving graph learning.
